Ingredients
  

Mashed Potatoes

  • 3-4 potatoes peeled and cubed
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Salt to taste

Chicken and Mushroom Filling

  • 2 chicken breasts diced
  • 500 g mushrooms sliced
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 1 tablespoon flour sifted
  • 1 cup milk
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Garnish

  • Grated cottage cheese

Instructions
 

  • Boil the potatoes until fork-tender, then mash with the butter, milk, and salt until smooth. Spread into the bottom of a casserole dish.
  • Heat a little oil in a pan and fry the diced chicken until golden and cooked through.
  • Add the onion, garlic, and mushrooms to the pan. Sauté until softened.
  • Sprinkle in the flour and stir to coat evenly.
  • Pour in the milk, season with salt and pepper, and stir until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Spread the chicken and mushroom mixture over the mashed potatoes.
  • Sprinkle grated cottage cheese on top.
  • Bake at 180°C (350°F) until the cheese is golden brown, about 15-20 minutes.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.
