  • 1 cup milk 200 ml
  • 1 cup water 200 ml
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 70 g butter softened
  • 5 cups flour

Filling

  • Chocolate spread or chopped baking chocolate to taste

Topping

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tsp milk
  • Crushed nuts for sprinkling

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine milk, water, instant yeast, sugar, salt, and flour. Mix until it starts to come together.

  • Place buns on a lined baking tray and let rise for another 20 minutes.
  • Whisk the egg yolk with 1 tsp milk and brush over each bun. Sprinkle with crushed nuts.
  • Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25–30 minutes, until deep golden-red on top.
