1 whole chicken 3 pounds, giblets removed Salt to taste Black pepper to taste 1 tablespoon onion powder ½ cup butter softened 1 stalk celery cut into 3–4 pieces
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Pat the chicken dry and place it in a roasting pan.
Season the chicken generously inside and out with onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
